John 8

And Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

With the sunrise he appeared once again in the temple; people kept coming to listen to him and so he sat down and began to teach them. Then the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery and placed her in the middle. And they said to him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of adultery/unfaithfulness.  Now in the law Moses commanded us to kill such with stones. We want to know what do you say about it?”  They said this to test him, so that they might have some reason to bring charge against him.

But Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger in the soil. When they kept questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let anyone among you who is immune to evil be the first to throw a stone at her.” And once again he bent down and wrote in the ground. When they heard his words, they went away, one by one, beginning with the elders. After a while Jesus was left alone with the woman standing in the middle. He got up and said to her, “Woman, where are they now? Has no one condemned you?”  She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you.

Go and from now on do not stray again.”
